Want to explore the secret serene place away from the mundane cacophony of the city? Let’s embark on one of the most beloved one-day treks in Bhopal – The Bhadbhada Waterfall trek. It is nature’s hidden gem, found in the middle of a dense forest. It is located in Delawadi village, near Delawadi Camp,in Ratapani Jungles in the Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh. Delawadi Camp is famous for its alluring landscape filled with sprawling valleys, dense forests, and some of the prettiest riverbeds, and lakes.
Bhadbhada Waterfall Trek is about 50+ km from Bhopal. The journey to the start point is about 1 – 1.5 hrs long from Bhopal. It can be easily accessed through Kolar Dam too. It is a beautiful amalgamation of waterfall, forest and beautiful landscape.
The waterfall tumbles down with a strong gush on the rocky surface right into a natural pool of turquoise waters. The waterfall flows throughout the monsoon only, making it one of the must-visit waterfalls during monsoon.
The Bhadbhada Waterfall trek distance is about 1km one-way from the main road. It involves moderate trekking of a total of 30 mins with an easy difficulty level. The trek route is plain in the majority of the portions, with some medium ascent of 100+ ft at the end of the trail. The route to the secluded falls is an enchanting one as it meanders through lush jungles, gushing rivers, tiny hamlets, and mountain valleys. The terrain gets rocky and muddy in many places. Before starting the trek we purchased the entry ticket from the forest officer. They have a small booth from where you can purchase the tickets.
If you are lucky, you will catch a glimpse of a picture-perfect sunset against the backdrop of huge mountains, lush greenery, and dense forest. When you finally arrive at the destination, you can witness the magic of white water cascading down from heights against a rocky surface creating a natural pool. The whole ambiance is so pure and pleasant.
